NFT

“A non-fungible token (NFT) is a special type of cryptographic token which represents something unique; non-fungible tokens are thus not mutually interchangeable by their individual specification. This is in contrast to cryptocurrencies like Zcash and many network or utility tokens that are fungible in nature.”

NFC

“NFC stands for Near Field Communication. Essentially, it’s a way for your phone to interact with something in close proximity. It operates within a radius of about 4 cm and provides a wireless connection between your device and another.”

Q&A

Q – What can I use Crown cards for, exactly?

A – Crown cards are intended to provide a reasonable level of confidence that an individual is who they say they are. Other possible uses of the card could include; special access at events based on card tier, being a collectible item and a token of contribution to the Crown project.

Q – How do Crown cards work?

A – Once scanned (using your smart phone or other device) your phone will show you the cards details and a URL link to the users personal Crown card webpage. This displays every card owned by the user and the details of the corresponding NFT. NFT details are also encoded on to the card as raw text and locked to prevent tampering. The card can be used to prove an individual is indeed “that person from the internet”. Scanning the card will produce the cards Unique ID, as well as the attached raw text containing the NFT details (including the users wallet address). By hashing the UID and wallet address together, we produce a unique hash which can be matched against the NFT on the Crown blockchain.

Q – What do tiers 1, 2 and 3 represent?

A – Tiers are a reflection of your contribution and commitment to the project. While tier 1 cards are available to anyone currently holding Crown, tier 2 and 3 cards can only be obtained by those that have actively been contributing to the project for 1 and 2 years, respectively. When applying for tier 2 and 3 cards, please be aware that a proposal to the Crown network must be submitted and approved by the community before the card can be produced and shipped. For your convenience, we will submit this proposal on your behalf. This process can result in longer lead times, so please be patient while awaiting the receipt of your Crown card.

Q – Do I need tier 2 to obtain tier 3?

A – Yes, Crown cards are intended to be a progressive collection, therefore you must obtain the tier 1 and 2 cards before you can get your hands on the tier 3 card. Proposals for tier 2 and 3 cards will be submitted at the same time (if you are already eligable for tier 3).

Q – Is NFC a good form of ID? Can’t NFC cards can be cloned?

A – Correct! If the first level of authentication provided by the card is not good enough, use the cards Crown wallet address as a form of two factor identification to confirm ownership. To do this, you can sign or send a dust transaction from the cards linked wallet to the requested address, providing confirmation that you are the owner.

Q – Is there a Crown card app?

A – Yes – Release soon

Q – How do I order my Crown card?
